Acro Yoga- Schedule and location change

Saturday September 14th, FROM 2 TO 4 PM with Massimiliano Manetti and Aimee Bouget, at Yoga Roof Lugano CENTRO. In English and Italian.
Come play at the Yoga Roof! Join Aimee and Massimiliano for two-hour beginner workshops in Acro Yoga. Take a step out of your comfort zone and onto someone’s feet (or shins. Or hands. Or elbows. You get it). Acro Yoga is about developing clear, compassionate communication, about building trust, about learning to let go, and definitely about nurturing a playful spirit. Throughout multiple introductory workshops this summer, we’ll explore how to safely base, spot, and fly beginner acrobatic and therapeutic postures, including inversions, transitions, and backbends. We’ll also focus on warmup routines designed to develop the core strength we need to fly with ease and the leg flexibility to base comfortably.
Each workshop will be unique and accessible to newcomers, so it’s no problem whatsoever to attend whichever workshops suit your summer best. Total beginners are welcome! Feel free to bring a partner, or come solo and make some friends.
Price: 39 CHF

Reservation for workshops are binding. If for any reason you should not be able to attend a workshop you are signed up for, we kindly ask you to cancel your reservation with at least 24 hour notice. Should this not be the case, the class will be billed.

Aimee: In 2011, I completed my 200 hour training in Vinyasa Yoga through Frog Lotus Yoga. Since then, I’ve spent the majority of the last seven years traveling, sharing yoga from retreats in Guatemala to hostels in Mexico to villas in Croatia. In between trips, I’ve also led Power Yoga classes at universities and trauma informed yoga classes for homeless teenagers in Colorado. Teaching around the world and to so many different demographics has shown me that yoga is available to anyone and everyone. And that’s what I love so much about it. No matter where you are, yoga will meet you exactly where you’re at. As someone with a background in theatre, dance, and gymnastics, I was captured by the idea that there’s no “performance” element in yoga. There’s no “perfect” pose. There’s just learning to listen to your body, as it is. Learning to accept your body, as it is. Learning to love your body, as it is. And learning to understand the ways in which you can compassionately encourage your body to grow. I love Vinyasa Yoga because it helps me discover ease and joy while flowing through challenging postures. I love Yin Yoga because it teaches me to relax around my tension, to release, to keep breathing and allowing my body to open even when I really, really want to quit. I love Acro Yoga because it shows me a playful, trusting, adventurous side of myself that I never want to lose. During all of my classes, regardless of the style, I hope to create a safe space. A space wherein people feel supported in unconditionally accepting themselves as they are, and then curiously and compassionately exploring their edges and finding growth.
Massimiliano Manetti’s interest in yoga started with Hatha, a practice that helped him get in touch with his body and emotions in an environment free from competition and expectations. When he later discovered Acro Yoga, he found the same qualities he had appreciated in Hatha, combined with other fascinating elements such as trust building, communication, playfulness and acrobatic challenges. He attended Acro trainings in Italy through Anukalana Yoga, and has been teaching beginner Acro Yoga since July, 2018. He hopes to share those same aspects of Acro Yoga that he loves with those who attend his workshops and classes.
